PDU family MPD 529 consists of sixteen individual models covering a range of configurations. All models include a vertically-mounted zero U chassis with one or more circuit breakers for protection of outlets. These units are designed to receive single phase power within a voltage range which is appropriate for the inlet connector.
Overcurrent protection is provided by one or more circuit breakers. Equipment faults can cause excessive power to be pulled from facility power lines. This can damage the equipment and power cabling. The circuit breaker in the PDU protects downstream equipment by opening the power line if too much current is being consumed.
